He started where the work happens: on deck
Before Secret Waves, our founder had already spent years working in events across Italy and Europe, both on the water and on land.
When he moved to Dubai, he entered the yacht industry by working directly on the boats.
He helped prepare them before events. He carried speakers, drinks, tables and equipment on board. He was there before the guests arrived and often stayed until the last ones left.
It was simple work, but it gave him something much more valuable: the chance to understand how everything really worked.
And when you work on board, you notice things that are easy to miss from an office.
Where the music should be. How the boat should be prepared. When the drinks need to be ready. Where the sun will be later in the afternoon. What makes guests comfortable and what can quickly change the mood of a day.
His years in the event industry helped him see those details differently.
With time, he was trusted to manage several yachts himself.
That meant taking care of everything behind them: preparing each trip, coordinating the crew, organizing what was needed on board and making sure every guest received the experience they had been promised.
But becoming the manager did not mean standing aside and giving orders.
If the crew needed an extra pair of hands, he was there. If something had to be prepared, moved or solved before the guests arrived, he helped do it.
Because he believed that if you are responsible for the result, you should understand the work behind it too.
That approach made a difference.
He learned what guests really wanted when they booked a yacht in Dubai. Not simply a boat for a few hours, but a day where everything feels easy from the moment they arrive.
The right yacht. The right atmosphere. Good music. Cold drinks. A prepared crew. And someone making sure everything comes together.
That idea eventually became Secret Waves.
As the company grew, the fleet grew with it, step by step. Different yachts were added for different types of days, groups and celebrations, giving guests more choice while keeping the same attention to the experience.
The company became bigger, but the way of working never changed.
The yacht matters. But the experience around it matters just as much.
Today, Secret Waves is built on the same principle our founder learned while working on those first boats:
Pay attention to the details. Work alongside your team. And never ask someone else to do a job you would not be willing to do yourself.
Because when everything behind the scenes is done properly, the guest should never have to think about it.
They should simply enjoy the day.

A yacht is only half of it. The other half is the hundred small decisions between deciding to do something on a boat and everyone laughing on the sun deck at sunset. We took those decisions in house so you do not have to make them at midnight on WhatsApp.
Four things most Dubai yacht companies will not do
Not because they cannot but because doing things properly sometimes means recommending a different yacht, coordinating multiple teams, or even turning down a booking.
Show you the yacht you are actually booking
No surprises at the marina. We carefully select the yachts we offer and can provide recent photos, videos and the details you need to know exactly what you are booking before you confirm.
Coordinate the entire experience
Catering, DJs, entertainment, decoration, photography and watersports. We bring every part of your experience together through one point of contact, so you do not have to coordinate five different suppliers yourself.
Tell you when a yacht is not right
Capacity does not equal comfort. If a yacht is too small, unsuitable for your event or simply not worth your money, we will tell you and recommend one that actually works.
Be there beyond the booking
Booking the yacht is only the beginning. From your first enquiry to the moment you step on board, our team stays available to handle requests, changes and the details that make the experience yours.
The boring things that matter
- Licensed commercial operator. Registered for commercial passenger charter, with every vessel individually certified and re-inspected annually.
- Full passenger liability insurance. Cover for every guest on every trip. Certificates are on file and we send them to your legal or procurement team on request.
- Licensed captains, employed by us. Not freelancers hired for the day. Our captains hold current UAE commercial certificates and average four years with the company.
- Fifty per cent confirms the booking. The balance is due before departure. Tell us more than seven days ahead and we move your date at no charge; if we cancel for weather, a new date or a full refund.
- Corporate invoicing and VAT. Proper tax invoices, purchase orders, bank transfer or card. Finance teams get what they need without three follow up emails.
- Families genuinely welcome. Child life jackets, shaded seating, a swim ladder that works and crew who have done a hundred family charters before yours.
